ImageFolio, which has been under constant development since 1999, has been made to run without code changes on all operating systems. In addition, it has been thoroughly tested on the following platforms:
HP Compaq HP-UX, Microsoft Windows NT/98/XP/2000/2003, Red Hat Linux 6+, Mandriva/Mandrake Linux, CentOS Linux, GNU Linux, SuSE Linux, OpenBSD Unix, NetBSD Unix, Sun Solaris Unix, FreeBSD Unix, Apple MacOS X,
Novell, SCO Unix, IBM AIX Unix, and will work on any and all operating systems with Perl 5.005 or greater installed.
To install ImageFolio on your server, you will require the following:
- A working copy of Perl version 5.005 or greater, which is
freely available and already installed on 95% of all Linux and Unix systems and 40% of Windows systems
- Ability to run CGI scripts on your server (Note: 90% of hosting accounts allow for this)
- Adequate server space for your digital assets and/or product photos (Please note: if you do not have adequate space on your server, we can provide you with space through ImageFolio Hosting Services.)
- Only 4 MB of server space for ImageFolio
- Compress::Zlib Perl Module (this is optional, and required only for zip and unzip compression functions - already installed on 80% of all servers)
ImageFolio does NOT require:
- A dedicated server or dedicated hosting account
- Third party image editing software such as ImageMagick or GD2
- Knowledge of HTML or Perl programming
- Telnet or SSH access
- Root user access to the server
