ImageFolio's Lightbox is a function in ImageFolio that lets users collect
their favorite images or files (not just photographs)
for use in projects, sharing with friends or colleagues, for personal viewing and
downloading, etc. Think of it as an Add to Bookmarks or Add to Favorites.
The Lightbox Manager gives users control over the files they collect to their lightbox.
Nobody else can see a user's lightbox, only the user him/herself, unless that user sends a
lightbox to someone else.
Here is what each user can do:
- Add or remove individual files from the activated lightbox.
- Save multiple unlimited lightboxes
- Rename any saved lightbox
- Send/Email any saved lightbox to another person or themself via email, along with a subject line and comments
- Create new lightboxes
- Delete saved lightboxes
- Download any saved or unsaved lightbox
- Activate (switch to) any saved lightbox
- Dynamic drop down menus on lightbox options

User Registration with Customizable User Database
If you enable the Multi-User Mod, and have set up a default group, users can register themselves to gain access to your ImageFolio gallery. You can customize the user registration
database/signup form to fit your needs. Do you need to know their birthday, make and model of car, hobbies, or pet names? No problem, you can do it.
Note: You do not have to require user registration for gallery access. This feature, like all other ImageFolio features, is completely optional.

Lots of Skins and Skin Configuration Options (8 new, 10 total skins)
In ImageFolio, a skin is a theme or page design. Each skin is unique and has it's own configuration
file, set of HTML templates, and images. You can modify existing skins to create your own custom
skin using the duplicate function in your Admin Area Skins Manager.
Skin names are (click name for example):
- industrial - defaut skin, black and gray with white text
- khaki - various khaki colors and khaki colored icons
- smoove - grayish blue tones, smooth and groovy
- pixels - white and soft grays with pixelated bitmap font buttons
- fruity - yellow and orange with vibrant icons
- bones - barebones text navigation and horizontal ruled dividers
- clean - all white with nice color icons and buttons
- polo - khaki, army green, leather, and burgundy
- classic - the original ImageFolio skin
- cool_blue - the default blue and lavender skin from 3.1

Page Customizaton / User Self Configuration Options
- Nav - users can choose to use text or graphical navigation (text loads a lot faster)
- Thumb Layout - users choose vertical or horizontal thumbnail info display
- Skin - users can quickly switch to any other available skin
- Dynamic drop down menus on page customizaton options

Global Header and Footer Option
- Set your header and footer in one spot, just one time, and they will appear on all pages and all skins automatically
- Change your header and footer whenever you want
- Use HTML, text, Flash, graphics, anything you want, or nothing at all.
- Header does not have to be "on top" - it could be on the left side, across the top and the left side, etc.
- Footer does not have to be "on the bottom" - it could be on the right side, across the right side and the bottom, etc.

Common Keywords Page
Keywords are extracted from your images on each Rebuild Index. Commonly found keywords
are then used to create a page of linked search keywords in your gallery. Keywords are
displayed in alphabetical order and sectioned into five columns. Approximate image counts resulting from a search are shown
next to each keyword so the user will know in advance how many search results to expect.

Improved Image Protection
Along with ImageFolio's current watermarking and image leech protection, ImageFolio now offers
the following optional image protection:
- Print Protection - users print blank pages instead of your images
- Copy Protection - context menu and right click disabled
- Email Protection - users send blank pages if they email your web page

Batch Uploading, Thumbnailing, and Preview Image Creation
ImageFolio has the built-in ability (using our own product ImageConvert) to create thumbnails and preview
images, in the quality and size of your choice, when you batch upload your source JPEG, TIFF, EPS, PDF, PSD, BMP, GIF, PICT and other files. You don't have
to install any third party software to make this work and you don't need to be on a
dedicated server. ImageFolio is currently the only server-based image gallery software product offering
a built-in solution for this. All other products on the market require that you install ImageMagick* or GD2 and most don't
even offer batch uploading and processing. ImageFolio can also optionally apply watermarks to your images.
Note: ImageMagick is also supported by ImageFolio, if you prefer to use it.

Statistical Overview (screenshots: 1)
Each time you visit the admin home page, you'll see stats, including total users,
total groups, total admins, total files, total categories, total common keywords,
total disk usage, operating system, last backup date, last rebuild time, etc.

Disk Usage Function (screenshots: 1)
Shows the total disk usage for ImageFolio broken down by category. You can quickly see
which categories are utilizing the most space on your server's hard drive.

View Users and Groups Function (screenshots: 1)
Shows a list of all current users and groups and their respective permissions, usernames,
and passwords.
Also included in this function is a batch group change option that allows you to change which group
a user belongs to. You can change one or all users at the same time.

Demonstration/Tutorial Mode
When setting up a new administrator or modifying an existing one, you have the option to
set their account to demo/tutorial mode. The administrator will have access to all functions
but no changes are saved. This is very useful for showing colleagues/friends or educating
employees.

This is a huge new feature. No need to edit any more text files and worry about screwing up
line endings. It is now all done via the Administration Area and it's incredibly easy to
use and make changes.

General Features
- Supports any file type including JPG, GIF, PDF, MP4, BMP, WMF, PICT, DOC, PNG, ZIP, Quicktime, Flash, MPEG, MP3, and many more. You can add new media types anytime you want, even if they are new and were released after this product.
- ImageFolio's Media Indexer builds your database for you. You do not have to enter any image information.
- You can create your thumbnails using any third-party thumbnailer or ImageFolio's built-in thumbnailer.
- Scalable! Supports unlimited images and movies. If it slows down, upgrade to the MySQL version.
- ImageFolio supports unlimited categories and subcategories, unlimited levels deep.
- Uses HTML templates for layout and design. There are templates for each section of your gallery, the home page, the thumbnail page,
the preview page, the login page, the registration page, the postcard page, the rating page, and many more. Templates can be edited using any standard web page editor, a text editor, or a web browser.
- Each category can be made to look unique or all pages can use the same default template. You control fonts, columns, colors, borders, messages, titles, navigation images, information display, and more.
- You set the number of pictures to show per page and how many columns to use.
- Optionally displays file name, type, size, date added, and captions beneath thumbnail images
- Add new content whenever you want. Simply upload new content to your server and ImageFolio takes care of the rest.
- Optional built in image protection can watermark your photos, not allow a site visitor to right-click on your images and steal your content, hide the URL of images to prevent leeching, and mask an image using a transparent pixel overlay.
- If you have many pictures in a category, ImageFolio automatically spans the pictures across multiple pages with links to jump between them.
- Automatic navigation generation of previous and next category links, previous and next pages, previous and next images.
- Supports SSI 'include' tags to include any file in any template
- Supports ExecCGI tags to include any result from another cgi-script, such as ad banner software
- Categories added within the past 'x' number of days or designated as new. You decide how many days old as new
- A Newly Added images section shows users what's been added in the past 'x' number of days
- A Random Images section pull images from every category randomly, and displays them
- Keyword search engine lets users search for media by keyword, category, or filename
- Browser-based password protected administration area lets multiple users build and maintain your gallery. Through this interface, users can add/modify/delete categories, upload thumbnails and linked media, add/modify/delete users, add keywords/thumbnail captions/image captions, and more.
- Manual or Automated slideshows gives your visitors control over the viewing experience. You control the delay between images.
- No typing or database maintenance is necessary Simply FTP your media using any FTP utility or upload files through ImageFolio's browser-based administration area.
- Files can be sorted by date, filename, hits, rates, random.
- Category listings and search results can be cached, based on your preferences, for faster displaying/sorting and active websites.
- Thumbnail Island: Put a thumbnail on any page of your site
- Visitors can set their own preferences (Sorting, Thumbs per Page, Skin, Navigation (text or graphical), Thumbnail Layout (horizontal or vetical), etc.)
- ImageFolio keeps a log file of all user searches and downloads.
- Skins. Skins. Skins. Easily make complete modifications to your templates and share them with others. ImageFolio comes with 10 skins. Also included are layered PhotoShop (PSD) files. With these you can easily modify the text of the buttons for translation and other purposes.
- ImageFolio has, in addition to the back-end administration, a front-end administration area. You can now maintain your gallery while browsing the gallery. You see your changes live and "on the fly".
- ImageFolio Pro allows you to have a thumbnail image, full-size preview file, and a third high-resolution downloadable file.
- ImageFolio offers catgory page spanning. If you have dozens, or even hundreds, of subcategories, it doesn't make sense to list them all on one page. You can span the pages and list 'x 'amount per page. You decide what 'x' is.
- IPTC standard compliant editor and reader allows you to embed data objects (fields and values) within the header portion of a binary image and retrieve that information on the fly for display with your images or for use in searches. Cross compatibility with Adobe¨ Photoshop and 140 other image editors.
- Custom IPTC fields allows you to replace the field name with anything you like. Example: "Car Color", "Model", "Build Year", etc. These fields are also searchable as keywords with ImageFolio's search engine.
- IPTC information can be displayed under thumbnails and images. You specify which IPTC fields can be searched and/or displayed
- ImageFolio's built-in ratings system prevents the same IP address (person) from voting twice.
- ImageFolio's built-in hit tracking system prevents the same IP address (person) from hitting twice.
- Each image's search keywords are displayed and linked back to the search engine, allowing your site visitors to perform a global search against the database by clicking on a keyword for the file being viewed.
- A "Find Similar" link allows your site visitors to find pictures that are similar to the one currently being viewed.
- ImageFolio's new anti-leech technology prevents would-be leechers from figuring out the URL to, or linking to, your digital assets.
- Optional watermarking of preview images with your logo, in desired location, tiled or not tiled. Watermarked images can then be saved in cache for quick access the next time an image is displayed. We recommend using 24 bit PNG formatted images for watermarks, but GIFs will also work.
- ImageFolio's IFRAME integration feature allows you to display a live, and continually updating, thumbnail image, with file information and link to the source file, anywhere on your site.
- ImageFolio optionally offers HTML page caching for high traffic sites. This relieves server stress and improves speed up to 90%.
- ImageFolio's password protection function allows you to password protect your gallery categories.
- For those with a lot of categories, ImageFolio lets you display your categories in 3 columns, instead of 2. You choose between 1, 2, or 3 category columns.
- A Top Hits button will sort all of your gallery files from the most downloaded to the least downloaded.
- A Top Rated button will sort all of your gallery files from the highest rated to the lowest rated.
- An administrative function supports the uploading of a category thumbnail image through your browser, to be displayed next to a category name.
- Move and/or rename categories and files with ease.
- Thumbnail images and file information are always aligned correctly, no matter what the size of the thumbnail image is.
