ImageFolio Installation
Home > Support > ImageFolio Installation
Because there is only one .cgi script in the entire distribution of ImageFolio,
the installation is semi-automated and fairly simple. Here is what you need to do to
install ImageFolio on your server.
Installation Instructions
- Unzip the
ImageFolioPro4.zip (approx 0.5 Mb) file sent to you by email.
- Upload all of the files from the resulting
IF4 directory to your server.
- Change permissions (CHMOD) on
imageFolio.cgi to 755 if on a Unix/Linux server.
- Run
imageFolio.cgi in your browser.
- Follow additional instructions** if necessary.
**ImageFolio will tell you what permissions you
need to set on directories and files.
- You will automatically be forwarded and logged in to the admin area, where you
will need to create a new administrator account.
- After registering as an administrator, you will be forwarded to the
Skins Manager
to install the default and additional skins as desired. You must install at least one skin and make it the default skin in order to continue.
Continue For Upgrades Only
- Move all of the contents (all directories and files) from your current
gallery directory
to the new gallery directory inside ImageFolio4_files and perform a Rebuild Index from the admin area.
- Copy your
groupdb and usersdb to the new location (default to data/db) and make
sure that your secret key from the admin_config.pl is the same.
- Try adding new users and groups. If you would like to modify the user database (i.e. the registration page),
please take a look at and modify
if_lib/db_link/imagefolio.pl using a text editor.
